Evergreen is an amazing mountain town with many things to see and do. If you want to spend a relaxing day or weekend hiking and fishing in the mountains, consider visiting Bear Creek Canyon. Though this area is not known for camping, it is close by and is accessible by car. This makes it the perfect place to take a quick day trip.
The area has a great outdoor atmosphere and offers plenty of activities for children. The town is also family-friendly, with great schools and recreational activities.
Lariat Loop scenic drive
A scenic drive in Evergreen Colorado is one of the best ways to see the area. This 40-mile stretch of the foothills west of Denver connects the towns of Golden, Morrison, Evergreen, and Lookout Mountain. Along the way, you’ll experience spectacular mountain views, wildlife viewing, art galleries, and historic buildings.
To get started, start your drive at Hwy 6 in Golden and travel up Lookout Mountain Road. Then, take Hwy 74 through Evergreen and Morrison to return to Hwy 6.

Lariat Lodge Brewing Company
Lariat Lodge’s brewery is a fun place for beer enthusiasts to hang out, especially after a long day at work. The brewery is owned by Anders and Debbie Ruikka, who have backgrounds in real estate and mechanical engineering. They transformed an old school building into a cozy brewpub, retaining the original structure and adding new features. A five-barrel brewing system now produces four house beers, including a Belgian-style lager that’s 9.9 percent ABV. The brewery’s eight rotating taps also feature seasonal beers.
