How Meditation Can Benefit Your Skin Health

Meditation is a life choice where you get to experience mindfulness and a stress-free and happy life. In India, meditation was first documented around 1500 BCE and it involved Vedantism, a Hindu tradition. However, it is believed that meditation was practised as early as 3000 BCE.

Importance of Meditation

There are so many health benefits to incorporating a few minutes of meditation into your lifestyle.

1.    Lowers stress:

Stress is a common cause of a lot of mental and physical problems when it is not managed. Meditation can relieve stress and improve any stress-related symptoms.

2.    Reduces anxiety:

Anxiety is different from stress and it comes from worry and uneasiness that can lead to symptoms of stress. Meditation can also help calm your nervousness and ease your worry.

3.    Keeps you focused:

When you meditate, you learn to be present in the moment which can lead to increased concentration. If you have a short attention span, this can help you focus longer on things.

4.    Boosts mental health:

Our mental health is fragile and can be affected without us being aware. Meditation can help you have a better outlook on life which can put you in a positive state of mind.

5.    Improves relationships:

Since meditation can help give you a better outlook on life, it also allows you to be grateful for the people around you and show your love for them. This can help grow your relationships.

How To Meditate

Take a few moments to meditate and let go of your stress, worry, and anxiety before you proceed with your day. If you’re new to meditation, there are different breathing techniques you can use. For this, we’ll be following the 4-7-8 breathing technique.

  • Keep your mouth closed and relax your jaw.
  • Breathe in through your nose as you count to 4. Feel your lungs fill up with air as your belly expands.
  • Hold your breath as you count to 7.
  • Exhale on the count of 8 and allow your belly to naturally contract as the air leaves your lungs.
  • Close your eyes and repeat this technique.

How did that feel? If you took a few minutes to do that, we are proud of you for putting your self-care first. To build a lifestyle centred around practices that nourish your body, mind, and spirit then follow a self-care regime and incorporate skincare products into your routine that are the perfect balance of natural and synthetic ingredients that have been tested.
